Sadly, it seems like the Flower Show will be the last one to be held at St Paul’s. We have had many wonderful shows there and this year’s was another. Every year our members think that with adverse weather conditions, their exhibits will not be good, but as usual, we had a splendid selection of sweet peas and roses. The popular vases of mixed flowers were also of a very high standard. This year, potted plants were moved from our annual show to the flower show. This gave them more room to be shown and there was a really good selection. The Art Show received more entries this year and the standard was very high.
This year the show was open to the general public but with many other events on the same day, we did not get as many people as we would have liked. Those that came, with our members, their families, and friends, enjoyed strawberries and cream and the awards presentation made by Enfield’s mayor Doris Jiagge, who was so impressed that she asked to be involved with the Annual Show as well.
