This years visit was to Copped Hall in Essex. Located just North of the M25 near the Essex boundary, this building and its grounds has a fascinating history. After a short coach journey a full coach load of GPHS members were given an excellent welcome with tea (and coffee) and cakes. There followed an incredibly interesting tour of the building conducted by very knowledgeable guides and an excelent lunch. After lunch there was a tour of the gardens and an opportuity to indulge in some plant retail therapy.
Following the visit to Copped Hall, the group also toured the nearby Waltham Abbey. An excellent day out assisted by brilliant weather (for a change)!
