Annual Show 4th Sept. 2021

Wow! Probably one of the best Shows the Society has had in recent memory.

Attendance was about 90 members and 40 visitors, and we also signed up 3 new members on the day. We are victims of our own success with so many entrants – 36 including 8 first timers, and one junior entry. Nearly 300 exhibits and too little space and time to get everything done, but we did it all just in time.
Everyone did so well and Cllr Terence Neville who gave out the trophies and vouchers, was extremely impressed. He said a few very nice words and flowers were presented to him by Milo and Seren Oliver and he then pulled the numbers for our raffle, after which we had our usual frantic auction of donated exhibits, including vegetables, flowers, cakes and preserves.

A big thank you to everyone that attended and helped set up, run the kitchen, and serve the cakes and a big thank you to all the cake makers.
Some of the cakes could have won a prize in the Show!
And the trophy winners were:

JH JEFFRIES CUP FOR VEGETABLES AND FRUIT, HIGHEST POINTS – Devina and Arun Rishi
JACK HUMPHRIES CUP FOR VEGETABLES AND FRUIT, BEST EXHIBIT – Derek Florin
VIC MANN CUP FOR FIVE KINDS OF VEGETABLES, BEST IN CLASS – Derek Florin

Annual Show Report 2017

The 2017 Annual Show exceeded all expectations. There were 36 entrants including 3 novices, and 4 juniors this year.

There were also over 260 exhibits and we nearly ran out of table space. There were four new categories.

Many of our entrants were also first timers and they did extremely well.  There was a large attendance of both members and people coming off the street and the Mayor, Cllr Christine Hamilton, presented the trophies and stayed to draw the raffle for us.

A full list of the prize winners can be found here.

The Auction also went very well, selling out all that was on offer.

The ambience of the St Paul’s Centre is always exceptional and will be booked again for next years show.

Thank you to all those who took part and also those who attended to support them
