The 2026 bring and buy sale was held at the allotment site on Saturday 9th May 2026. The weather was great and many members and non-members attended. More than £650 was raised for Society funds – a really successful event!

Members are reminded that the annual SUMMER FLOWER SHOW and PAINTING SHOW will be held at St. Stephens Church on Saturday 4th July in the Church Hall. Notes for the Painting Show are below.

A Still Life

“Something Grown & Something Made”

  • There are GPHS members who are interested in painting and drawing so for the eleveneth year the society is to have a painting and drawing display at the Summer Flower Show. This is intended to be for fun for GPHS members who want to exhibit their work. This year’s theme is a little different, a still life “Something Grown & Something Made – A Still Life”. Thank you!
  • Pictures should not be bigger than A4 and without frames.
  • Only one picture may be accepted from each artist.
  • They should be on paper, not canvas or boards.
  • Debbie Peaty , a respected local artist, will be the judge for the Art Prize and visitors to the show will vote on the People’s Choice.

Another very successful show!

Thanks to the enthusiasm of many new entrants, including one novice and 6 children, this year’s Annual Show was a bumper success with 32 entrants and over 250 entrIes throughout the categories.
The deputy Mayor was very impressed. A big thank you to all those members who made the wonderful cakes and the volunteers who helped set up the Show.
